There are just six days remaining to see the Art Gallery of New South Wales’s critically acclaimed Sydney International Art Series exhibition, The Greats: masterpieces from the National Galleries of Scotland before it closes on February 14.

One of the most significant collections of European old master works ever seen in Australia, the exhibition provides visitors a rare opportunity to experience the extraordinary quality of over 70 masterful paintings and drawings from across four centuries by many of the greatest names in Western art including Botticelli, Leonardo, Raphael, Titian, Velázquez, Poussin, Rembrandt, Vermeer, Turner, Monet, Degas, Gauguin and Cézanne.

While enjoying broad critical acclaim, the exhibition has also delighted visitors, many of whom have expressed their gratitude to the Gallery:

Dear AGNSW,
The Greats exhibition while small relatively speaking is, I feel, one of the most important and significant historical exhibitions to come to Australian shores in many years. To have a Rembrandt, Da Vinci, Velazquez etc. is exceptional! Then to experience an enlightening, engaging and eloquent Curators’ floor talk was one of the most memorable gallery experiences I have had (I have been to most of the major galleries in the western world Including the Tate, Prado, Louvre, Uffizi, MOMA and Hermitage just to name a few). Today was truly exceptional. Thank you and thanks to the National Galleries of Scotland for being so generous in lending these treasures to us in the Antipodes. I am telling all and sundry to get into the AGNSW asap. Rodney Scherer, Victoria.

Don’t miss this once in a lifetime opportunity to see these masterful works while they are in Sydney.
