Gallerykids Festival

An action-packed day for the whole family

Children at the Art Gallery of NSW

The first State Street Learning for Life Gallerykids Festival will take place at the Art Gallery of New South Wales on Sunday 21 September 2014. The all-day free event will feature films, talks, tours, performances and workshops that aim to inspire and educate children of all ages.

The Festival is part of the Gallery’s education program State Street Learning for Life. The education program launched in March of this year when the Gallery announced a partnership with State Street, one of the world’s leading providers of financial services to institutional investors.

The partnership has enabled the Gallery to substantially increase its education initiatives for all visitors, including students, families and the general public.

The State Street Learning for Life Gallerykids Festival will be an action-packed day with an exciting array of free activities that allow young visitors to discover art in new and interactive ways. Throughout the day children can hear about an ancient king and queen; make their own artwork; take part in performances that will ignite the imagination; and follow a specially designed children’s art trail – and take it all home in a custom-made goodie bag. Plus they are invited to come dressed up as their favourite hero, knight or princess.
