Make it May Sensory-friendly program
Join us on Sunday 19 May 2024 for a sensory-friendly visit to the Art Gallery of New South Wales to be part of the Make it May program.
This is an opportunity for visitors who may benefit from a calmer, quieter environment to experience two art-making activities with reduced sensory stimuli and fewer people in the workshops between 10am and 11am.
In Rainbow Rock Mountain with artist Rosie Deacon, you’ll repurpose everyday materials to create and decorate a type of rock to add to a mountain sculpture.
In Tell your tale with artist Emmanuel Asante, you’ll use cardboard to help create an environment for animal portraits.
All materials and instructions provided. All ages and skill levels are welcome, and no experience is necessary. Children under 12 must be supervised by an adult at all times.
The event may suit people on the autism spectrum and those living with disability, dementia, a mental health condition or chronic illness.
This sensory-friendly event – along with Rainbow Rock Mountain and Tell your tale – is part of the Art Gallery of New South Wales program Make it May
