Join us at Art After Hours at the Art Gallery of New South Wales when the host of the acclaimed podcast The great women artists interviews an Australian icon.

Tracey Moffatt is one of Australia’s most renowned contemporary artists, both nationally and internationally. Working predominantly in photography and film for over three decades, she is known as a powerful visual storyteller. She has had over 100 solo exhibitions at major galleries worldwide, and in 2017 she represented Australia at the 57th Venice Biennale. Her films Nightcries: a rural tragedy (1989) and Bedevil (1993) screened at the Cannes Film Festival.

In this rare live interview, she’ll discuss the highlights of her illustrious career with art historian, curator, broadcaster and writer Katy Hessel, the bestselling author of The story of art without men whose podcast The great women artists has featured luminaries such as Marina Abramović and Tracey Emin. In 2023, Hessel was appointed a visiting fellow at the University of Cambridge.

Presented in partnership with Sydney Writers’ Festival.
