Exhibition tickets

In addition to our many free exhibitions and displays, the Art Gallery of New South Wales presents paid exhibitions, which require tickets and sometimes have timed entry.
What you need to do
When booking tickets online, you MUST first log in with your membership number to redeem your benefits.
You can also book tickets in person at the Art Gallery at the Members Lounge (lower level 3) or welcome desk (ground level) in the original South Building or at the welcome hub outside the new North Building.
Your benefits
As an Art Gallery member, your benefits for paid exhibitions vary depending on membership.

If you are an Explore member
You can:
buy an exhibition ticket for yourself at either the advertised members discount price or the youth price (12–17 years), depending on your age
buy unlimited tickets per exhibition at the advertised members discount price
buy other tickets per exhibition (eg family, youth) at the advertised prices.

If you are a Connect member
You can:
buy unlimited tickets per exhibition at the advertised members discount price
buy other tickets per exhibition (eg family, youth) at the advertised prices.

If you are an Inspire member
You can:
redeem one free ticket to the exhibition of your choice during your membership year
buy unlimited tickets per exhibition at the advertised members discount price
buy other tickets per exhibition (eg family, youth) at the advertised prices.
If you have membership for two people (Inspire Duo), you are each eligible for a free ticket per year. These can redeemed at the same time or separately.
You can redeem your free ticket during the booking process, either at the Art Gallery or online. Once you have redeemed your free ticket for the year, you will not be able to book more free tickets; however, you can still book tickets at the advertised members discount price.

If you are a Champion member
You can enter any paid exhibition unlimited times.
No need to book, even for timed entry exhibitions. Just go to the exhibition entry and show your membership card and photo identification matching the name on your card.

If you are not yet a member
You can join online anytime. You’ll be given a membership number immediately and can start using your membership benefits. Just log in with your membership number before you book an exhibition ticket. If you’ve become a Champion member and you haven’t yet received your membership card, visit the Members Lounge before going to the exhibition and our staff will assist.
You can also join in person at the Art Gallery and access your benefits right away.

We no longer schedule free exhibition viewings for members. Inspire and Champion members have opportunities to see exhibitions for free as part of their membership.

If an exhibition has timed-entry tickets – unless you are a Champion member – you must select a date when booking a ticket, including when redeeming a free exhibition ticket as an Inspire member.
When you log in as a member to book a ticket online, you will see only the tickets and prices available to you.
