My body of work explores the notion of sentimentality. In placing a series of still-life photographs of family objects handed down through generations alongside recontextualised family photographs, my intent is to display my Hungarian and English family heritage and explore my personal history. My work represents the hidden emotional significance that can be attributed to objects despite their seemingly insignificant appearance. I edited each photograph into a polaroid frame to express the feeling of nostalgia that is inextricably linked with the concept of sentimentality.
